Brooklyn based trio The Sweet Ones are certainly not known for their subtle approach as demonstrated in their latest video for “Carburetor” (not for those with a weak stomach) – but the band’s new track “Kids At The Bottom” highlights their love for Jonathan Richman, harmonicas, and Americana – catchy, melodic, lyrically moving – while keeping things dirty and grungy. Their loose style of Rock-and-Roll and unpredictable live show lifted them from the obscurity of the DIY house show circuit of the East Coast. They call their music ‘Junk Rock’ which is a DIY, fend-for-yourself experimental mash-up of thrown away and underground styles. Their latest album, Big Mistakes, was released in the UK in June.
