Björk’s latest video for her new single ‘Moon’ from her album Biophilia has been released, it was directed, produced and art directed by björk, inez and vinoodh, m/m paris and james merry. ‘Moon’ contemplates emotional rebirth through the exploration of ‘lunar cycles, the tides, and human biorythms’.
Biophilia presents a number of songs which explore nature, the macro and micro-cosmic world and its relationship to humankind and our music. Each song takes a different aspect such as spatial relationships on Crystalline or the similarity between musical harmony and the orderliness of the cosmos on Cosmogony. From creation myths to macro physics the album is as much an educational piece. In its creation Björk collaborated with ‘app developers, scientists, writers, inventors, musicians, and instrument makers’. The album release build up has been fanfared by a new interactive website, educational workshops, the unveiling of new and fascinating musical instruments, live shows as well as a Biophilia App (akin to sonic artwork / interactive album) for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch which is narrated by none other than David Attenborough!
