Swedish duo Mire Kay return with a beautiful video for their second single ‘So You Learned’, taken from the debut EP Fortress.
Directed by Mats Udd and set deep in the summertime foliage of the Ekerö forest just outside of Stockholm, it expresses Udd’s desire to “use the Swedish forest as a fairytale” and within this mirrors much of the natural imagery which the song details.
Udd expressed his excitement over working with Emelie Molin and Victoria Skoglund, recalling their previous project Audrey, and further stated that he rarely contacts a band offering to direct their videos, “I usually don’t do that at all”. The idea for the video is a simplistic one in which the forest is transformed into a mysterious and magical location, where plays of light, texture and colour come together to bewitch and amaze. “They were just travelling through and flying silent over the ground…that was the concept for this very low budget video, but I think [it] worked pretty well”.
Their EP Fortress was released back in April 2011 on A Tenderversion Recording.
