A bit brave of me calling anything a club but hey, I’ll try and remember to post this regularly on a Friday…me and routine never get along but we’ll see how it goes. Anyway, it is Friday so I’ll be sharing some tunes and videos that convey the spirit of Folk Radio UK. There will be old and new videos, tunes and the occasional free track.
In this first post: The Watersons documentary (1965) which features Louis Killen and Anne Briggs. Then bang up to date with a new video from Sea Of Bees performing Gnomes followed by James Vincent Mcmorrow performing Follow You Down To The Red Oak Tree. Back in time again for a very nice video of John Fahey performing Poor Boy. Then, another Folk Radio UK favourite artist: Tim Eriksen singing Amazing Grace in a Western MA style, quite unlike any other.
We head things off with a newly discovered band, thanks to our good friends rarebit Music: Spirit Family Reunion giving some of that ole time religion and finally, the wonderful Lisa Hannigan, one I keep returning to, covering Nick Drake’s Black Eyed Dog! Plus free tracks from Lucy Ward and Southern Tenant Folk Union.
This weeks image features Woody Guthrie singing a song whislt getting a shoe shine!
Enjoy the weekend Folks!
