I was wondering what the well groomed Damien O’Kane was up to these days, after marrying Kate Rusby, having a wee bairn, releasing his first solo debut, Summer Hill in 2010…what was next? He couldn’t stay out of mischief for that long surely? Then, this week, we heard about an idea, now in fruition but spawned at Cambridge Folk Festival by Damien, David Kosky and Joe Rusby. Their plan was to release, as they put it, a debut Irish instruMENTAL album titled The Mystery Inch. The three of them jointly produced the album and Joe Rusby worked all the studio wizardry: Engineering and mixing. I’m sure Damien O’Kane came up with a number of the title tracks…(see below)
We’ll be bringing you more on their latest Tenor Banjo and guitar tune-fest which also features guest musicians John-Joe Kelly on Bodhran, Danny Cameron on Button box and Carmel O’Dea on Fiddle. The album will be released on Pure Records in August 2011.
