Although the band Seeker over Keeper may be a new name to you, the constituent three parts are probably not. They are three of the most talented songwriters to hail from Australia in recent years. Sally Seltman, Holly Throsby and Sarah Blasko make up this dream combo whose combined singing / songwriting talents promise a dreamy nostalgic laden self-tiltled album to be released June 3 via Dew Process.
Because there are three of them they decided to release three videos as an introduction to their album which were directed by Natalie Van Den Dungen. You can watch them below:
Seeker Lover Keeper was recorded over two hot weeks in New York with Jim White (The Dirty Three) on drums and Shahzad Ismaily (Tom Waits, Martha Wainwright, Bonnie Prince Billy) on bass and guitar. Victor Van Vugt (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Sarah Blasko) was recruited as producer. Holly, Sarah and Sally all shared piano and other guitar duties and all provided additional production.
They will be heading out on tour in June, full details can be found on their website here.
In other Sarah Blasko news Communion release The Flowerpot Sessions album today which features 3 of Sarah’s songs, ‘All I Want’, ‘Down On Love’ and a new song ‘To Let Go’ co-written and performed with Angus & Julia Stone.
Sarah will be performing at Communion-run festival Bushstock at St Stephen’s Church in Shepherd’s Bush next Saturday 4 June. Tickets and event details are available here.
