Vetiver are due to release their new album in June through Bella Union which is titled The Errant Charm, you can download a free track below. UK fans will also be pleased to hear they are doing an album launch tie-in tour in June.
As I mentioned in previous posts, this does seem to be the year for a change in direction for many bands. Vetiver’s main man, Andy Cabic, is no exception. The band site states he
spent hours wandering the streets around San Francisco’s Richmond District, listening to rough mixes, tinkering with lyrics and arrangements.
There is a promise of more experimentation as well as a very driven mid-section which pushed their music to a never-before-heard dynamic and new extremes! The recording process was structured more organically making the album quite diverse as well as uncovering new layers on each new listen.
