Woodkid is making a grand entrance with the release of his Iron EP thanks to the cinematic accompanying video. After seeing the video I had a listen to the new EP and was struck by it’s range. The video aside Woodkid is reminiscent of other artists but one that sprang to mind on listening to Baltimore’s Fireflies
(listen below) is The Cinematic Orchestra. This may of course just be the piano and vocals warping my judgement as he is not in the same range, but if you like them I think you’ll love Baltimore Fireflies:

and The Cinematic orchestra to contrast:

The video for Iron is nothing short of epic in its visuals. It is the work of Director and photographer, Yoann Lemoine, best known for his fashion and music photography. What is most surprising about the whole thing is that Woodkid is the 27 year old Yoann Lemoine! This also explains the EP connection to Mystery Jets who offer up a re-mix of Iron on the EP as Yoann Lemoine has also directed videos for them.
