Caught this today…The Ting Tings have re-mixed Bob Dylan’s Subterranean Homesick Blues. Appears to be a Record Day feature run by Sony:
I had to update this post after Melanie sent me this…which I missed somehow.
The track below was put out on YouTube as a lost Dylan recording by prankster Mike Bauer. It’s a cover of a song by Rebecca Black. This has been so popular on YouTube that folks are even adding their mythical remembrance stories of when they first heard it:
Its was a cold winter in NY in 75. Back from the war, but back to nothing. No heat, just an old blanket my mom gave me before I left for the war. Me, my beer, and this Bob song. Which seat should I take” almost broke me into tears. Bob was saying “What’s left for me in this world” cause either way I was screwed. He then said Partying, partying, fun, fun. fun’ like our lives would go on forever.” Friday represents that day we all want. Only Bob can make a cold day in my life a little warmer.
