Daylight Music continues at Union Chapel this coming Saturday 5th March when The Memory Band will be performing along with Marmaduke Dando and Cosmicorus. For more details and video read on!
The Memory Band
In a decade which has seen a wide ranging and fruitful revival of interest in folk music, Stephen Cracknell’s The Memory Band has established itself in that fine English tradition of slightly schizophrenic projects pointing in several directions at once which manage to find their place in the ever exciting independent music scene, popping up at several influential moments and though the marvels of technology finding audiences all around the World.
Marmaduke Dando
Marmaduke Dando is a singer of morose ballads and frisky drunken jigs, often extracting references to early Scott Walker, Brel and Weill. Bred from genuine pirate ancestry in a southern port, now based in London. He writes about all the horrors and beauties of the modern world, and barks them back at it with his dear band on the cold and regimented performance stages of London. His songs have been set to films, played in the Houses of Parliament, and used as an aid for aspiring Casanovas.
Cosmicorus
Cosmicorus are a group of outstanding harmony singers. Their current show includes arrangements of composers such as Vaughan Williams and a Live rendition of the Star Trek Theme. Their shows have spanned a vast array of stages and festivals; The Royal Festival Hall, The Round House, Glastonbury Festival with Lost Vagueness & Candle lit churches across london. They are as befitting to an underground cavern with their stripped back acoustic sets and floaty, gossamer vocals as they are to a festival field of midnight revellers.
