Yes, it really is getting close to that time of year. News of Christmas shows are coming thick and fast so book’em soon to avoid disappointment. James Yorkston (plus special guests) has a show planned for Monday 20th December, 2010 at the Luminare and is likely to sell out very soon.
In Jame’s own words:
I’m delighted to say that it’s only been on sale a week and already it looks fairly likely to sell out, so – buy tickets now if you want to come. You can always sell them later on. For face value, of course.
Unless yer a wee touty bampot.
I should say, although in previous years when the first show has sold out we’ve always added another; this year, there will only be one show, of that you have my word.
Oh – and it’s a solo show.

Other James Yorston News:
Way back in March, I wrote a few songs for The Fruit Tree Foundation – a mental health awareness thing, I think. It was good fun. I did one song with Ali Roberts, one with Emma Pollock, one with Jill from Sparrow and the Workshop and one with Scott Frightened Rabbit. Anyway, the album is finished and we’re playing a few concerts to promote it. They’re £6 to get in, which seems pretty cheap to me. Now, both shows are early, starting at 6:30pm and I think I’m supposed to be doing some of my own stuff at the Glasgow show. So, if you want to see me play for 20 minutes at 6:30pm in Glasgow, come along. Here’s the official bumf:
Join Idlewild’s Rod Jones, Emma Pollock and friends as they celebrate the launch of their fantastic collaborative album which includes;
James Graham (Twilight Sad)
Scott Hutchison (Frightened Rabbit)
Jill O’Sullivan (Sparrow and the Workshop)
Karine Polwart
Jenny Reeve
Alasdair Roberts
James Yorkston
Enjoy unique pairings and collaborations, live performance of new tracks and some more familiar songs,with limited edition copies of the CD (artwork by Aidan Moffat) exclusively available. They’ll sound something like this:
