Humble Soul has teamed up with London promoter Arctic Circle to assemble this mini album featuring exclusive tracks from the six artists involved in the first of a brand new concert series from Arctic Circle.
Dubbed “Outer Circle”, this series sees Arctic Circle looking beyond its home in London to allow it to showcase emerging talent from around the UK, with the focus initially falling on Manchester and Bristol.
Outer Circle is a project built around the idea of discovering unsung heroes and ground breaking artists for a series of exciting concerts in prestigious venues, both in London and beyond.
Bristol is the home of Rozi Plain, François and the Atlas Mountains and Eyebrow. Rozi delves into the Bristol scene of which she is such an important part with a cover of a Whalebone Polly song written by her close friend Rachael Dadd; François takes on Crescent, the band who first inspired him to move to Bristol, and Eyebrow bring us an instrumental version of an early track by The Blue Aeroplanes.
Manchester artist Denis Jones presents his take on the blues of John Mayall; Homelife write their own idiosyncractic take on the city (“it’s ended up more Hawaii than Manchester” says Paddy Steer), and Nancy Elizabeth takes The Smith’s closing track from Hatful of Hollow and makes it her own.
From new to old with an Outer Circle of beautifully re-imagined music.
