The April Thief is a new, and free, eclectic night of music and entertainment with a carnival heart. The first one kicks off this Thursday 15th April at 8.00pm. The venue is the Half Moon in Putney.
Inspired, incorrigible folk family Troubadour Rose brings you April Thief, a free, eclectic night of music and entertainment with a carnival heart. With live bands swooping from majestic feedback to epic intimacy, expect electric guitars, mandolins, theatre, prizes and maybe even a piñata (although not necessarily at the same time!) Arrows of Love front man weaves darkly romantic layers of majesty in secret side project The Sliding Rule. ‘An old acoustic guitar played, bowed, looped, beaten, while singing, speaking, shouting, and stamping feet’.
With a salute to rockabilly and a call reminiscent to English folk, the night’s ringmasters and hosts, Troubadour Rose, will captivate you with their rootsy vocals and bold melodic harmonies. Headlining will be the irresistible Pissinboy, playing dirty, 60s tinged garage rock, and thumping their way from Hackney via France.
Come one, come all, and bring a heart for breakin’ and a body for shakin’…
