One of the UK’s most talked-about young singer/songwriters Pete Lawrie has announced plans to tour his native Wales performing impromptu acoustic sets in a host of unique and beautiful locations from tomorrow.
For four days in April (Friday 9th – Monday 12th) Pete Lawrie and his band will gather together their acoustic instruments, pile into a camper-van and set out to discover the hidden gems of the Welsh countryside…. and then play live, right there amongst the elements.
With locations such as Penarth Pier, the beautiful Ystradfellte Waterfalls, Brecon’s Bluebell Woods and the sand dunes of Llangenith just a handful of the locations roughly pencilled into the itinerary, Pete’s Long Welsh Weekend will see him play in well over a dozen distinctive local settings over the course of the tour.
Alongside Pete and his band will be Tom Swindell, a professional documentary maker who will film the entire tour and create a series of short-films to be run later in the month online and on TV.
Fans can follow Pete’s movements across the Long Welsh Weekend via his Facebook and Twitter pages. Pete is also giving fans the opportunity for him and his band to come and play an extra special set at one of their homes. All fans need to do is tweet details of the Long Welsh Weekend tour alongside the following hashtag (#longwelshweekend) and the town/ village/ city they want Pete to play in. Pete will then pick the best location and come and visit on the Saturday!
